Master Key Experience Week 11: The Law of Attraction and Faith

It is Thursday, December 9, 2020. Sunday we started week 11 of the Master Key Experience. This was a very good week. The lesson this week was about effects happen because of causes. Then the effect of that cause creates other causes which creates yet another effect which then creates yet another cause. So there is an endless number of possibilities possible from the initial cause. Then you want the initial effect to be the result of a positive cause instead of a negative cause to prevent a cascade of negative effects. At least that is how I interpret the reading. This makes sense to me. So the challenge is to stop the negative causes which is exactly what we are doing avoiding negative thoughts and having no judgements of people. So I am diligently working on those principles.

I have changed my answer when someone asks how I am from ok or all right to tell them I am wonderful. It does seem to have a positive effect on my friends that I have replied to in this way. The other day I told a coworker that I was wonderful and he asked if I really was. I replied that I was because I decided that everyday was wonderful no matter what the circumstances were because I could not change the circumstances but I could change my attitude and how I viewed the day. He said he liked that and later in the day I saw him and asked how he was and he said wonderful. Small changes can make a difference. That is what I have learned through this process.

Later in the lesson is was stated that like forces repel themselves and are impenetrable to each other. Opposite poles on a magnet attract each other and like poles repel each other. Positive and negatives on a battery react the same way. This bothered me a little bit because the Law of Attraction say as exactly the opposite. The after reading part eleven several times I finally saw my answer. The answer was that in the mental world like attracts like. My doubt was then released. I’m not sure how I didn’t realize that earlier. Maybe that is one reason we have to read the lesson everyday.

Later in the chapter faith is talked about. There were several different ways given on what faith is here is one of them. Paul said, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” So you must have faith in the Law of Attraction, and believe and have faith that what you desire will come to you. I have had experience in faith in something that probably made no sense at the time. In 2002 I was very sick. I was off work for almost 6 months. I was in the hospital for 7 weeks. They never figured out what was the cause of my condition so no one could tell me I was going to get better. My symptoms were I couldn’t walk, no short term memory and I could not do 2nd and 3rd grade math problems. There were some other symptoms also but they were the worst. When I left the hospital I was using a walker to walk, my speech was slurred and everything was pretty much a struggle. Then 5 days a week for a couple of months a rehabilitation center would pick me up and I would spend 8 hours a day working on all of my problems. The first day there the physical therapist in charge of my program asked me what my goals were physically. I told her I wanted to walk without a walker and run the Honolulu marathon. This was in the middle of June and she asked when the marathon was. I told her December and she said this year and I told her yes. She said that she didn’t want to dampen my spirit but that might be a stretch. I had run the marathon before so I at least knew that I had been able to do it. I did run the Honolulu marathon 6 months later. I never doubted it. I had faith that I was going to do it and I did. Looking back at it I thought there was no way I should have even had the thought that I could do it. But complete faith got me there. I never ever doubted it. This is what we are learning to do here. Have faith in something that maybe looks impossible.

So that is my take on this week. This ran a little long, maybe very long. But dream big and have faith in your dream. No one can do it for you but you have help along the with the Master Key Experience.

  1. Hey John, that certainly didn’t run a little long, it was actually captivating and a compelling account. I like the way your mind works through the concepts given to us … you are a deep thinker and have strong faith!

  2. Small changes can make a most wonderful difference as you evidenced with your co-worker. We never know what little gesture will make a difference in the lives of others. We owe it to ourselves and others to stay on our game. All the Best.
